API standards is a system of specifications developed by American Petroleum Institute.
Steel pipes are supplied in accordance with specifications:
- API 5L (Line pipe)
- API 5CT (Casing and tubing)
- API 5DP (Drill pipes)
API 5 L Specification is one of the most common standard specifications for pipes.
Pipes are supplied in accordance with following requirements:
- API 5L PSL1 (line pipes for transportation of oil of all types)
- API 5L PSL2 (line pipes applied for off-shore objects).
Pipes according to API 5CT are applied for oil production from wells
API 5DP drill pipes are used for drilling wells for oil production
Depending on requirements for pipes according to API 5DP Standard specification pipes can be:
- API 5DP PSL 1 pipes
- API 5DP PSL 2 pipes
- API 5DP PSL 3 pipes
Each production lot and each pipe passes multistage quality inspection.
